Capturing the Grand Landscape
I wanted this candle to capture us the same way the Grand Canyon does. The vast landscape is one of the major wonders of the world with it's rich earth colors, unique biome, and even the way it let's us see layers into the past. That alone made this feel like quite the project. I had some great help from Andrew Tischler who provided amazing photos of the landscape and this helped put that atmosphere and expanse first to my painting and then to the Grand Vista Candle. In the painting for this candle I emphasized the rich Ocher colors and depth that makes the landscape look like it will never end. When you light the wicks the fragrance will let you travel there without leaving home. Here's a breakdown.
Top Notes: Fresh Air, Sagebrush
These notes provide with a light aromatic smell that let you feel the breeze as it travels through the canyon.
Middle Notes: Patchouli, Wild Vetiver
Patchouli and wild vetiver give a very grounding and earthy scent profile that is at the heart of this candle just like the Grand Canyon.
Bottom Notes: Charred Cedar, Aspen Wood
These hot woody notes evoke the sun and warm atmosphere it provides as it bakes the land.
